What to watch for Election Night 2026

Here's what I am watching (all times are Pacific time, because that's my time zone):

4:00pm Florida

(1/2) FL-14 [AP] (redistricted from Harris +8 to Trump +11); incumbent Representative Kathy Castor (Dem)

(2/2) FL-25 [AP] (redistricted from Harris +4 to Trump +9), most expensive in the nation

4:00pm South Carolina Senate race [AP]

4:30pm Ohio Senate race [AP]

5:00pm Texas Senate race (counts ballots faster than Ohio) [AP]

6:00pm Virginia (polls close at 4:00pm but tight races won't be called for two hours or so)

(1/3) VA-01 [AP] (Trump +5 seat) incumbent Republican; if Democrats flip this seat, then they are in for a very good night

(2/3) VA-05 [AP] (Trump +12 seat) incumbent Republican; if Democrats flip this seat, then they are in for a great night

(3/3) VA-02 [AP] (Trump +0.2, incumbent Republican Rep Jen Kiggans +3.8) could tell us if a strong Republican candidate could survive a Democratic wave; it is widely considered the "most competitive" race in the nation [according to the Cook Political Report]

???? Kentucky's 6th district [AP] (polls close at 3pm PT but takes a relaxed approach to counting ballots)
