I'm just analyzing US politics from the perspective of a pure mathematician treating it like a "natural phenomena", in the sense that I focus on "positive issues" (i.e., "What's going on?") as opposed to "normative issues" (i.e., "This is what should be done"). The quantitative focus is reflected in the blog's name, a nod to William Petty's work by the same name.
I'll probably post some Coq scripts1I may just write in the mathematical vernacular (a "pseudocode" for first order logic) or Mizar, since these are more human readable than Coq. when working with formal models of game theory to prove certain a priori results, I may invoke statistics or machine learning when analyzing data.
I try to stay as neutral as possible.
One venue of investigation is thinking about American Politics as a repeated coupled game consisting of elections and legislating. This absorbs notions of political ambition, voter behavior, "party systems", and so forth.
Realistically, this is just a "lab notebook" of my readings in formal political science, US political history, and statistics/"machine learning". So make the most of it :)
To paraphrase Rapoport's Fights, Games, and Debates, this blog is mainly a vehicle for sharing an intellectual experience.
